Did you catch Adele’s “gig” on Thursday night (7/7/11) at the London iTunes festival? We at BOLD had a front row seat thanks to apple streaming all 62 performances on iTunes. After watching this hour and 25 minute performance, it’s official. We love her now even more than ever before!
Adele has been described as a “blue eyed soul singer” enjoying success on American charts with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Natasha Bedingfield, and Robin Thicke. “Blue eyed soul singers” are defined as rhythm and blues /soul music performed by caucasian artists with a strong pop music influence.
Adele’s personal approach to performing pulls you in right away and makes you feel as if you’re in a very swanky living room catching up with an old friend. Adele’s candid commentary between songs enchanted us almost as much as her powerful songs. And we would be remiss if we didn’t comment on Adele’s fabulous ensemble. Her dress (in her signature black) was beautiful, sophisticated hair style, and how could we forget her BOLD red nail polish? One of our favorite parts of the night was when she commented on how her feet hurt from her high heels and she needed to take a seat for a song or two!
Whether or not you’re an Adele fan, you need to watch a few minutes of this gig. We didn’t think it possible, but our appreciation for this 22 year old’s talent grows each time we hear from her.
Did you watch Adele’s amazing show at the Roundhouse? Let us know what you thought!
Keep on being BOLD, Adele – we love what you’re doing!
