Kelly Clarkson of Already Famous
That’s right. Kelly Clarkson is teaming up with her backup vocalists to form a group called Already Famous. Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier have joined Clarkson to form the trio. Pickering and Rapier are commonly known in the indie singer-songwriter circle as JillandKate.
The group formation is a product of a long-lived spat Clarkson has had with her record label, RCA. By forming the group, she is able to circumvent any limitations they’ve set, and probably have some fun doing it! Clarkson has said that all three singers will take turns with lead vocals, backup, and writing songs.
This sounds like it could be a great side project for Clarkson. And, fans are certainly looking for more music from the original American Idol. So, we say “bring it on!”
