Drop Dead Diva Airs Sundays at 9PM Eastern on Lifetime

Before we recap the 8/7 episode (Mother’s Day) of Drop Dead Diva, we’d like to just review it and let you know our thoughts, as always. By the way, check out our curvy celebrity gallery featuring Brooke Elliott, here!

Jane juggled two cases, both involving her “mothers.” One is Deb, her former self’s mother. And the other is Jane’s mother. While we definitely understand the dynamic between Jane and Deb’s mother, we don’t understand why she fights so hard to keep her old modeling company out of trouble for using her photograph. It’s a little disheartening to see this beautiful and intelligent woman still worry about something so superficial. After 3 seasons, shouldn’t she begin to realize how awesome she is? But, all in all, this was a pretty entertaining episode. Brooke Elliot (Jane) does a great job at dealing with both of her “mothers.” The relationships she has with both of her mothers are pretty cool, considering the twists and turns her life has taken.

We must say, by the way, that Brooke Elliott’s singing voice is phenomenal! Read the recap to find out how we know!

Next week, Jane and Grayson clash when Jane represents a college student who accuses someone from Grayson’s alma mater of date rape; and Jenna tricks Kim into assisting in her divorce settlement.

Drop Dead Diva airs Sundays at 9PM Eastern on the Lifetime Channel. If you missed last week’s review, check it out!

Here is an episode recap from8/7:

Jane’s day is full of trouble begins when Elaine is arrested for leaving the plane through its emergency gate rather than through the terminal after being on the tarmac for a long time. Grayson advises Bobbi to file suit against a casino for not getting permission from Deb to legally use her likeness for the ad campaign.

Jane gets nervous after seeing Bobbi and Parker going out for lunch. Fred gets relationship advice from Kim so his relationship with the Stacy will get better. After juggling both cases, Jane has a heart to heart with her mother regarding their strained relationship.

Jane wins her mother’s case after setting a vivid scene for the jurors, proving how necessary it was for her mother to exit the plane. She then convinces Grayson that Deb probably wanted her picture being used. And, that’s why she whited out all of the changes to her contract with her photographer (we saw this through flashbacks).

The end of the episode was a great happy hour karaoke scene involving Jane and her two “mothers.” She then sees her former self on a casino billboard and is so proud that she made it as a model. There is a touching moment between her and Grayson, where there seems to be a brief connection. Maybe this is finally the break these two are looking for!
