OK, so here’s the scoop. Dirty Dancing, the original 1987 movie, is being remade.
“Paying tribute to the emotional excitement of first love, the thrills and complexity of sexual awakening, the soul stirring power of dance, and the classic tale of teenage Baby’s forbidden romance with Johnny Castle, the remake will incorporate classic songs from the 1960s, hits from the original film and brand new compositions,” the entertainment studio Lionsgate said in a statement.
The original choreographer, Kenny Ortega, will be directing the whole shebang. Ortega’s directing credentials range from the High School Musical franchise to Michael Jackson’s “This is it.” He did not, however, direct Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. Is that a good or a bad thing?
It’s time for you to step into the conversation. What do you think? Will this movie be a great tribute and reintroduce new fans to a timeless classic? Or is it a bad idea? Let us know!
In conclusion, I would just like to say that “nobody puts baby in the corner.”
