Event Announcement: Bold Magazine to Deliver Weight Related Workshops at Living Large, Chicago

The hits don’t stop coming, this week! Yes, we’re reviewing the events we’ve been to and hosted all Summer. Yes, we’re still going to Baltimore to hang out with some “Good Girls Gone Bad” (don’t let the name fool you, these ladies are lovely) next week! Yes, we’re excited to Join Sarah Sapora in Vegas in September… But, we’re so excited to make a quick announcement! We’ll be heading to Living Large Chicago’s “Boo”ty Bash this October (flier announcement is right next to the text).

Living Large is a “… plus size based social club developed to merge those who struggle with being confident in their own skin with people who have also traveled the same path of self development in body acceptance this connection has produced organically stronger self confident enriched individuals.”

They say their goal “… of creating friendships, networking, lifetime experiences and relationships have far exceeded expectations.”

“Our membership is so diverse in education, location, demographic and we feel so privileged to have the pleasure of hosting local and international guest.”

Okay… yes.. we know that we’re pretty back and forth about “bashes,” especially since “bash culture” tends to vary on its amount of respect for women’s bodies. And, yes… it’s got the name “Booty” in it and you know we’re all about respectful correspondence with plus women (or all women for that matter). But, wait a second! Jessica Heflin, the amazing CEO of Living Large Chicago, is turning her Plus Positive event weekend into a seriously jam-packed conference style event with seminars and clothing swaps all over the place. Our friend Emily from Big, Beautiful and Broke will be there! So, let’s just call them smart peeps with a great propensity for puns and marketing! And, guess what….

Our CEO, Dr. Christopher Salute, will be joining the Chicago bash group this Autumn! Bold is going to be hosting three pretty distinct forum/discussion style sessions at the Living Large “Boo” ty Bash! Here are the topics:

1- Recognizing Weight Discrimination and ways to Combat it (from the workplace to your flight to Chicago)

2- Separating Fetish from Feelings: A Productive Discussion on Men’s and Women’s Plus Relationship Issues in 2018 (but of course can be applied to all human beings)

3- The Men’s Lounge: A Roundtable Exchange on Dating in Plus Communities (You CAN have fun and be respectful, my dudes… let’s figure out how we can empower ourselves and our partners, together)

Living Large Chicago Invites you to “…treat yourself and join [them in Chicago for events that you will never forget.”

We’ll also be selling our Bold Babe Tees and Tanks at the vendor fair. And, all participants will get a special treat in their Living Large backpacks!

LLCM Rep’s Reception – Poolside–  7:30 PM-9:30 PM Warm up with your Living Large Chicago- Milwaukee Team as they host a pool party with games and drinks to warm you up and break the ice! This is a great event for newbies as you will get to know all of our membership NEW and seasoned!

LLCM Karaoke  – Shelby Campbell’s Bar–  9:30 PM- 12 AM Warm up with your Living Large Chicago- Milwaukee as we watch everyone either kill the mic orrrr… Ummmm just have fun.

Friday

Breakfast With The Staff- Shelby Campbell’s -9:30 AM – Those who are staying in the hotel block will be given two breakfast tickets for complimentary made to order breakfast.  Our staff will be having coffee and gearing up for the day! This is a great way to meet more people and have a good laugh! (Additional tickets for breakfast will be available, please contact the hotel for pricing). Breakfast is 6:30 AM- 10:30 AM. If you have any leftover tickets please give them to staff member.

Vendor Fair- Ball Room- 12 PM – 7 PM– Shop, Shop, Shop and WIN stuff! A lot of stuff! Vendor bingo will be happening! You have your bingo sheets and instructions in your bash bag! We will have food vendors and everything from sheets to shirts! Come and get yourself some!

Lunch At Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse- 1 PM -This is a pay your own way event and must have RSVP’ed to Daisy Garcia in order to attend!  Located at 3008 Finley Rd, Downers Grove, IL 60515 Cost is $33.50 for lunch plus tax and tip! For those who need a discounted price because you have a bariatric note, please feel free to call 630-324-6002 and let them know you are coming in on the 26th of October for lunch with the party of fifty for Jessica. Everyone with an RSVP is welcome!

Finish The Lyrics Game- 3 PM -4 PM- Know your music?? Join our staff as we play the latest music and you team up to win an awesome prize! It’s our pseudo karaoke! Such a great way to pass the time and meet new people!

Anxiety At Any Size- Ballroom -1 PM – 2 PM– In our experience our LLCM community and even some of our sister groups have had a struggle with anxiety and confidence. Please feel welcomed in our safe space as Jodi Moen, a licensed professional counselor about how to cope with this sometimes crippling social disorder.

Costume Ball Club Night Hosted By Living Large-9:30 PM- 2:00 AM– Thursday and Friday we let you warm up for the main event! Saturday is where it is AT!  DJ OX allllll the way from Orlandoooo! He comes, he kills it, he puts it in a coffin and buries it! Costumes, costumes everywhere BUT who will win our CASH PRIZE this year? Don’t forget the Gogo Cage! OH and the 20 foot sweets table. Last year we had HOT and NOW Krispy Kremes for everyone! Did someone say CHEESE??? We have not one BUT two photo booths! Door prizes and who will walk away with the vendor bingo jackpot? Uber will be very reasonable for hotel to hotel transport. Shuttle to and from O’Hare runs from 5 AM until 12 AM and is $5. Shuttle leaves the hotel on the hour and departs from the airport on every half hour. Breakfast Vouchers can be purchased at the Front Desk for $10.00 per person, per day.
