Amanda LaCount Debuts as First Plus Size Mermaid
Recently, we have posted a brief teaser on what Amanda LaCount has been up to and what she’ll be debuting in this week. We still don’t know if we’re allowed to talk about the EXACT role. But, we can give you a bit of a scoop:
Tune into the Little Mermaid on Tuesday, November 5th at 8/7C (LaCount is listing it at 8 PST (perhaps a second showing) to see something awesome!
Amanda LaCount is going to be playing a mermaid on the live show! What a treat! We love to advocate for plus voices and bodies as mainstream characters and this is just INCREDIBLE!
Auli’i Cravalho plays Ariel and Queen Latifah will be playing Ursula. The Little Mermaid movie is also in production with rumors of Melissa McCarthy playing Ursula.
Lots of plus power hitting the stage and screen under the sea this year! Woo hoo!
